In 2021, a pair of Egyptian vultures first built a nest on a transmission line support in Extremadura. The pair successfully raised a chick, which was tagged and named "Ruanda" due to its flights to Africa.

A year later, after that first chick, the pair attempted to nest on a nearby structure and was able to breed once again, but the extreme heat prevented any chicks from surviving.

We installed a camera, along with a platform, on the original tower where the pair had nested. After flying back from Africa, Ruanda visited the nest and looked into the camera. They must be shy, as they left and haven't returned since.
