During the construction works of the Andújar-Guadame power line, we made an important discovery that may confirm that the Roman city of Isturgi was located at the site of Los Villares. We have collaborated with the Town Council of Andújar and the University of Granada in the excavation and study of these remains.

The remains were sent to the Museum of Jaén.
