Between December 2013 and September 2014, as part of the works for the construction of the Torrent sub-station, the connection point in Ibiza for the electricity link with Mallorca, various archaeological remains from different periods were discovered. Among the evidence of at least five sites, we found a Byzantine necropolis (6th-7th centuries), a late Punic rural settlement, and a Roman aqueduct.

In accordance with the criteria approved by the Consell de Ibiza, the remains of the aqueduct will be covered with a layer of geotextile, aggregates, and earth to facilitate its conservation and any subsequent research. Regarding the necropolis, the remains have been documented and dismantled to be relocated in an archaeological reserve area of 4,500 m2, created to preserve in situ all the remains found in a delimited and isolated area of the sub-station.
