Last December, Red Eléctrica, Redeia's subsidiary responsible for operating the national electricity system and overseeing the development and maintenance of Spain’s electricity transmission grid, completed a series of works to extend four key sub-stations for the transmission grid in the Community of Madrid.

Specifically, the company has carried out work on the Anchuelo, Arroyo de la Vega, Morata, and Parla sub-stations with the aim of strengthening the supply through the transmission grid and facilitating the evacuation of renewable energy. These projects are included in the Grid Development Plan 2021-2026, approved by agreement of the Council of Ministers on 22 March 2022. The work has been performed with the least possible environmental impact, considering the existing natural and cultural heritage and taking the necessary preventive measures for its correct integration in the surroundings.

These initiatives will improve the supply in the territory, boost the economy, and progress in the energy transition process.
