The Red Eléctrica Group has adhered to the ‘Alliance for Professional Training: a country strategy’, an initiative from the Ministry of Education and Professional Training that joins the forces of administrations, companies, the third sector and social agents to transform Professional Training into a quality, flexible, innovating, inclusive and capitalizable training journey.

“By adhering to the alliance, from the Group we commit to driving initiatives to make Professional Training a tool capable of developing the talent a country needs to carry out the energy transition and digital transformation. Thus, us companies will be capturing medium and higher technical training profiles, which are nowadays lacking, and, in turn, contributing to improving the employability of the entire population, in particular of young people”, expresses Beatriz Corredor, chairwoman of Red Eléctrica.

Despite having proven to be a tool for employing young people -unemployment rate falls to 7.56% among Medium Technical degree holders and to 6.91% among Higher Technical degree holders, according to the Spanish Employment Service-, Professional Training in Spain is still miles away from reaching the levels of surrounding countries. The percentage of students enrolled in Professional Training studies is 12%, whereas it is 25% in the OECD and 29% in the European Union.

It is also far away from meeting the demands of the employment market in the short and long term. According to the forecasts for Spain, already in 2025 49% of job posts will require intermediate qualification and 16% low qualification. Nowadays, 25% of people have intermediate qualification, while 35% have low qualification.
