The Events Hall of Red Eléctrica de España (REE) has today hosted the presentation of the conclusions of the TORGEO R&D+I project, which assesses the impact of solar or geomagnetic storms on the high voltage grid in Spain. Furthermore, it has also developed a model to quantify the effect of these phenomena on the electricity system. This project, spearheaded by REE, has the collaboration of the Space Research team of the University of Alcalá (UAH) and the Research team on Geomagnetism and Aeronomy of the Ebro Observatory of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
