Discover what Red Eléctrica is, what we do, and why we are the backbone of the electricity system in Spain and the ecological transition.
This endangered species has found in our towers the ideal location for reproduction and scanning its hunting grounds. The Iberian imperial eagle seeks out low-traffic areas, away from paved roads, to build its nests, and it has found this here.
They bring us life, and in return, we take care of them. We are in direct contact with environmental rangers to protect the well-being of the chicks on the towers where they nest.
Additionally, if we detect a nest during the course of our work, we halt operations and notify the rangers. Additionally, we always respect breeding periods to avoid causing any disturbance. High-voltage towers not only transmit energy and withstand all kinds of weather adversities, but they also serve as an oasis for biodiversity.
