Demand for electrical energy increases 1.1% in November

The demand for electrical energy on the Spanish peninsula in the month of November is estimated at 20,886 GWh, a value 1.1% higher than that registered in the same month last year. After factoring in the seasonal and working patterns, electrical energy demand on the Spanish peninsula has increased by 2.9% compared to November 2016.

From January to November, the demand for electricity on the Spanish Peninsula is estimated at 230,410 GWh, a value 0.7% higher than in the same period in 2016. After factoring in the seasonal and working patterns, demand for electricity increased 1.1% compared to that registered the previous year in the same period.

Generation coming from wind power reached 3,884 GWh in November, a value 0.1% lower than the same month last year, and represented 18.2% of total production.

In the month of November, using data available as at 30 November, it is estimated that 27.3% of total production came from renewable energy sources.

43.9% of electricity generation during the month was obtained using technologies which produce zero CO2 emissions.
